You’re actually damaging your skin if you wash your face many times over the course of the day. The glands under your skin will start producing more oil if you keep washing your face too often. This is to keep your skin well-hydrated. The downside, though, is that you’ll have excess oil and this can lead to more pimples. It’s best if you simply wash your face once in the morning and once at night. If your face feels gross during the day splash some water on it.

Drink a lot of water. Experts recommend drinking no less than 64 ounces of water daily. Your body stays well hydrated if you drink lots of water. More importantly, your skin is well hydrated. In order to maintain the elasticity of your skin, your glands produce oils naturally, but they end up working even harder the drier your skin is. By drinking water, your helping your skin stay hydrated. Your pores won’t be so clogged and you won’t have zits when your skin is well hydrated. It’s because your glands will be producing a lot less oil.

Go for the gentlest skin care products. You might think that your skin will benefit from the heavy duty products. Don’t think that just because you feel a burning sensation from using products with stronger formulations your skin is getting all better. However, mild skin care products are a lot better for your skin. You need to make sure that you provide your skin with the gentlest of treatments. The skin on your face is highly sensitive, way more sensitive than the skin on the other parts of your body. The skin on your face needs to be treated with great care. Although salicylic acid may have worked for you when you were younger, it’s something you need to avoid using when you’re an adult because it will just burn your skin.
